Dimapur, March 24 (EMN): Two-day national seminar on ‘The best practices in higher education for quality management’, organised by IQAC, St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama and Sponsored by UGC-NAAC is underway at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama.
Delivering the prelude of the college, at the inaugural session, convener of the seminar Fr. Anthony Dukru, quoted, “education is an indication of human development and to implement higher education, quality education is needed’’.
In a presidential address, Rev. Fr. Sebastian Ousepparampil, principal of the college, stressed on the need of quality education. He also highlighted some characteristics in working towards quality education. He added that implementation of quality education is the Achilles heel of best practice.The keynote speaker, Dr. B.S. Madhukar, advisor NAAC, Bangalore spoke on ‘quality is non- negotiable and how a teacher plays a vital role towards achieving quality education and how autonomy leads to employability’.
Earlier, Dr. Medonuo Pienyu, HoD Sociology delivered welcome speech, Cultural Association of St .Joseph’s College presented ethnic cultural fusion dance signifying the cultural unity despite cultural diversity while special number was presented by Moa and dance by Kalivi and friends. The programme w0 James H.K, HoD English, delivered vote of thanks.
Various dignitaries and faculty members from different colleges of Nagaland are attending the two-day seminar.
