“No-Tok-Let was founded in 2010 by music maestro late Daniel
Engty and myself as a proud addition to the Karbi Youth Festival. Despite
successfully hosting two editions, financial constraints forced us to pause the
event,” said Risim Rongpi, one of the event organisers.
Announcing that No-Tok-Let is being revived this year, with
the National Rock Contest being curated during the 51st Karbi Youth Festival,
Rongpi added, “We believe this revival will not only honour the festival's
legacy but also inspire and empower our youth, providing them with an
opportunity to connect through music and culture.”
“The revival of No-Tok-Let promises to be a momentous
highlight of the 51st Karbi Youth Festival, and music enthusiasts are eagerly
awaiting the event.”
So far, bands from Meghalaya, Nagaland, Dima Hasao and local
bands have registered for the contest and more are expected, he added.
