DIMAPUR — The National People's Women Front (NPWF) has condemned the incident involving a young doctor from Nagaland, currently pursuing her postgraduate studies at AIIMS Gorakhpur.
In a statement, NPWF president Aneii Khaming said the reported stalking, racial abuse, intimidation, and physical assault she endured on the evening of February 22 is not only an attack on an individual woman but an affront to the dignity and safety of all women, particularly those from the North East who continue to face discrimination and racial prejudice in different parts of the country.
“Such acts are unacceptable and must be dealt with the strictest legal action. We appreciate the prompt registration of the FIR and the efforts of the police authorities in deploying teams to apprehend the accused.

“However, we urge the government to ensure swift investigation, speedy justice, and exemplary punishment for the culprits so that a strong message is sent that crimes against women and racial harassment will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” the NPWF stated.
The NPWF requested that adequate security measures be strengthened around institutional premises, especially near hostels and campus gates, to ensure the safety of women professionals and students.
“India stands united in its diversity. Acts of racial discrimination weaken the very fabric of the nation. The NPWF stated that it expects firm and decisive action in the matter,” the statement added.
