DIMAPUR — The National People’s Party (NPP) Nagaland has expressed deep concern over the prolonged stalemate arising from the IAS induction issue, stating that it has disrupted normal government functioning and caused inconvenience to the public.
According to a release issued by the party, the ongoing pen-down strike and agitation by various service associations under the banner of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) have brought several administrative services to a standstill, directly affecting the lives of citizens dependent on essential services.
NPP Nagaland acknowledged the efforts of both the state government and the JCC to engage in dialogue and explore possible resolutions. It appreciated the Chief Secretary’s Office for initiating meetings to facilitate discussions between the government and JCC representatives.

The party, however, appealed to the state government to take decisive and compassionate steps to resolve the issue at the earliest to restore public confidence and ensure the resumption of basic services without further delay.
“The Party believes that every issue, no matter how complex, can be resolved through sincere dialogue, transparency, and mutual respect,” it stated, adding that it is in the interest of all stakeholders—government, employees, and the public—that an amicable solution is reached without prolonging public hardship.
It further said the current situation not only affects office work and governance but also slows down development and service delivery across departments.
The NPP urged both parties to continue engaging in constructive talks and to rise above differences for the greater good of the state. It expressed confidence that with wisdom, empathy, and goodwill, the state government would take a balanced and just decision that upholds meritocracy while addressing genuine grievances fairly and transparently.
