Dimapur, Dec. 11 (EMN): Eleven days national integration tour organised by Assam Rifles for 26 students and seven teachers from seven north-eastern states was flagged in on Tuesday by Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, director general of Assam Rifles.
The students toured various historical monuments and other important landmarks in Delhi and Agra from 1 to December 11. They also and interacted with President of India Ram Nath Kovind, Union MoS (Home) Kiren Rijiju, and vice chief of army staff.
Director General, during the flag in ceremony congratulated the students on the successful completion of the tour and encouraged them to share the experience and knowledge gained by them through the tour with their counterparts in respective states as ambassadors of unity, integrity, prosperity and development. He also called on them to utilisr their enriched experiences in contributing to the society and nation building.
Sharing their experience, the students expressed that the tour had has greatly widened their horizons and perspectives about India. They also said they have developed better understanding of Northeast states through interaction with each other.
