National Games: Manipur team wins silver in rowing

IMPHAL — The spirited pair of Thoudam Priya Devi and Haobijam Tendenthoi Devi from Manipur won silver in 2000 metre in rowing at the ongoing 37th National Games held at the picturesque Vainguinim Beach, Cidada de Goa, on Wednesday.

In yet another closely fought event, rowing's quadrumple scull, the team of Thangjam Priya Devi, Haobijam Tendenthoi Devi, Thoudam Aruna Devi and Mayengbam Merina Devi won the silver.

On the floor of the Ponda Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, the Poomsae mixed pair of Nongdaren Khaba and Umelly Mangshatabam won the bronze.

The Manipur men's and women's teams in Sepaktakraw sailed through to enter the semi-final at the Fatorda multipurpose hall. Manipur will take on Assam in women's regu event in the semi final.

Meanwhile, Indian Olympic Association has allotted the 38th National Games 2024 to Uttarakhand.
