
NDRF personnel along with the faculty and students of
College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry after the mock drill in
Jalukie on Wednesday.
- DIMAPUR — A team
from 12th Battalion National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Kohima, conducted
a comprehensive mock drill on disaster management at the College of Veterinary
Science and Animal Husbandry (CoVSAH) in Jalukie under Peren district on
Wednesday.
- An update from the college stated that the drill was aimed
at equipping students, faculty and staff with essential knowledge and skills in
handling various emergency situations.
- The event, which attracted a total of 150 participants
including 79 girls, 36 boys and several faculty members, was an important step
towards raising awareness about disaster preparedness.
- The team leader from the 12th Battalion NDRF gave detailed
explanation on the procedures to follow during different types of emergencies.
The mock drill showcased a range of practical techniques for disaster response,
focusing on life-saving procedures, coordination and efficient communication
during emergencies.
- In her address, Dr. I Shakuntala, dean of the college,
expressed gratitude to the NDRF team for their valuable time and efforts in
organising the drill. She emphasised the importance of such training and
commended the dedication and sacrifices made by the NDRF personnel, who are
working tirelessly to protect and save lives in disaster situations.
- Dr. Shakuntala further acknowledged the invaluable
contribution of the NDRF team in preparing the community for unforeseen
disasters, stressing that preparedness and knowledge are key to reducing the
impact of emergencies.
- It further stated that the mock drill has left all the
participants better informed and prepared to handle emergency situations with
confidence, highlighting the significance of disaster management in building a
safer and more resilient community.
