The 47th biennial general conference of the Northern Angami Students' Union (NASU) got underway on Friday in Zhadima village on the theme “Pergere Progressus.”
Hosted by Zhadima Students' Union (ZSU), the introductory session of a three-day conference was attended by the state programme officer of National Ayush Mission, Dr. Seyiekhrietuo John Zhale, as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Zhale urged the students to be humble and truthful in every little way stating that it would take them a long way. He also encouraged the students to be united irrespective of their backgrounds.
Stating that the 'power of thinking' is God's greatest gift to humanity, he urged the people to use the power wisely.
Also highlighting on the physical and mental benefits of yoga, Dr. Zhale cleared the misconceptions saying that yoga is not religion-based but for all those who seek peace of mind, soul and body.
The session was chaired by Atouzo Kerhüo, while an invocation prayer was said by Khriekesa Miario, senior pastor of CRC Zhadima, introduction by Viketoulie Khrodi, and welcome address by Kevingulie Soliezuo, president of ZSU.
Vizosielie Khoubve, convenor of the local organising Committee, shared greetings, while Asonuo Mezhatsu presented a song and Pelesielie Khro, NASU assistant general secretary, presented a report of the union.
