KOHIMA, JANUARY 4
The 25th anniversary celebration of Northern Angami Sports Association Group ‘C’ is scheduled from January 12 to 15 at Zhadima Sports Complex under the theme ‘Commitment to sports excellence’.
The four-day event will be hosted by Zhadima Village Youth & Sports Organisation. A total of eleven villages under NASA-C including Meriema, Tsiesema, Tsiese Basa, Phekerkriema, Zhadima, Nerhema, Nerhe Model, Chüziema, Keviphe, Viphoma and Ziezou will take part in the
championship which will feature Naga wrestling, football (men & women), volleyball (men & women) and marathon race.
The inaugural function on January 12 will be graced by Dr. Neiphrezo Keditsu, MLA and chairman, Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation (NSMDC) as the chief guest, while KT Vilie, chairman Zhadima Village Council and vice president Angami Public Organisation, will be the guest of honour for the closing function on January 15.
The marathon race, on January 13 at 6.30 am, will be flagged off by Neilalhoulie Soliezuo, additional director, Youth Resources & Sports, Government of Nagaland. The marathon, which will be made open for any age group, is sponsored by the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS).
Apart from games and Naga wrestling, there will also be cultural and extempore nite on January 13 evening, followed by talent nite on December 14 evening.
The prize sponsors for Naga Wrestling are Kepel Keditsu, Proprietor, Apex Motors, Dimapur (1st prize), Er. Sobou Kerhü-o, executive engineer, Irrigation & Flood control, Nagaland (2nd prize) and Neiketou Kiewhuo, SIS, Department of School education (3rd & 4th prizes).
The prizes for football will be sponsored by Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu, managing director, Putuonuo Nursing Home, Kohima,, while the prizes for volleyball is sponsored by Kevise Segotsu, president, Nagaland Timber Association. The expense for the monolith is being sponsored by Peter Kuotsu and the jerseys is sponsored by Virielhoulie Miario, PSO to Member of Lok Sabha.
Meanwhile, all the affiliated villages are asked to arrive at the host village on January 12 along with two flags. An official meeting has also been convened on the same day at 4 pm. The affiliated units are also asked to come prepared with a minimum of four wrestlers and a maximum of eight wrestlers.
The anniversary celebration would be led by Roko Angami as the convenor of the organizing committee and Peter Kuotsu as the master of ceremony.
