‘Nani Teri Morni,’ a film by an Indian film director and scriptwriter Akashaditya Lama based in Mumbai will be released during the Children Film Bonanza in Kohima on October 9.
An update from the DIPR issued on October 6 stated that the film is based on Mhonbeni Ezung who was the youngest recipient of national bravery award for children in the year 2015. She saved her grandmother from drowning and triumphs over her fear.
With the motto “Promoting Every Child's Right to Entertainment” Children's Film Society, India (CFSI) is said to be organising 'Children Film Bonanza' from October 9 till the 11th at RCEMPA Auditorium and on October 12 and 13th at the State Academy hall in Kohima.
The festival is said to be organised in collaboration with the departments of Social Welfare and Art & Culture, Youth Resources & Sports, School Education and Information & Public Relations, government of Nagaland with students from classes V to XII from both government and private schools as the target audience.
Born in Ranchi, Bihar (now in Jharkhand) and brought up in Kolkata (West Bengal) Bhilai (Chhattisgarh) Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh), the Director of the film, Lama got his diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1996-97, the update informed. He got his first break in the business of films and television in 1998 by assisting in Ad films. He has been an assistant director, screenplay writer, dialogue writer, theatre artist, playwright, script writer and has directed feature film, Cigarette Ki Tarah.
Also, the director is said to have written additional dialogue for the film Lahore, directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan which won two National Film Awards. He has co-written Chauhan's next directorial venture Chanda Mama Door Ke. Lama has also written and co- produced nationally and critically acclaimed Hindi play Mohenjodare.
The director is also said to be the first director-producer from Mumbai Film Industry who has shot the entire film in the hills of Nagaland.
