Takes total number of seats to 32
Dimapur, Mar. 3 (EMN): The chief electoral officer of Nagaland on Sun. announced that slot for 6 Tenning assembly constituency has been bagged by NDPP candidate, Namri Nchang.
It was informed that the Election Commission of India has accepted the decision to give said seat to the NDPP after consideration. The initial confusion which had NPF as the winner has been attributed to an error by the returning officer.
The seat will now go to NDPP, which is in alliance with the BJP, taking the total number of seats to 32.
Also in a statement the Janata Dal (United) has affirmed its support to the NDPP-BJP alliance. The party’s national spokesperson, KC Tyagi issued a press statement extending support to the NDPP-BJP combine.
