National Legal Services Authority launches 90-day 'Mediation for the Nation 2.0' drive to settle pending cases in Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), in association with the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC), Supreme Court of India, has launched the 'Mediation for the Nation 2.0' campaign across the nation, including Nagaland, to settle pending cases in all taluk courts, district courts, and high courts of India.
The campaign follows the completion of ‘Mediation for the Nation 1.0’ held across the country in 2025. This second edition is a 90-day intensive drive.
According to an update, the Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), as per the direction of the National Legal Services Authority, has informed all district legal services authorities (DLSAs) in the state to conduct the drive to settle pending cases in view of the national campaign which will run in March 2026.

As per mediation data in Nagaland in connection with Mediation for the Nation 1.0, the NSLSA amicably settled 90 matters and disputes out of a total of 397 cases referred by DLSAs and the High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC).
The different categories of cases which can be referred for mediation during this campaign are matrimonial disputes cases, accident claims cases, domestic violence cases, cheque bounce cases, commercial disputes cases, services matter cases, criminal compoundable cases, consumer disputes cases, partition cases, eviction cases, land acquisition cases, and other suitable civil cases.
The campaign was conceptualised under the guidance of the Chief Justice of India and Justice Surya Kant, judge, Supreme Court of India and executive chairman, NALSA and chairman, MCPC.
In view of this 90-day national campaign, ‘Mediation for the Nation’, all advocates, litigants, and the general public are requested to take advantage of the campaign and refer their cases, if they fall under the specified categories, for mediation.
