Dimapur, Sep. 16: The Nagaland Association of Kickboxing Organisation (NAKO) expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for rendering financial assistance to the state’s team at the recently concluded 24th IAKO National Kickboxing Championship that was held during September 6-9 at Mapusa in Goa.
“It is through the chief minister’s support that the state team could be able to participate in the competition and win one silver and four bronze medals for Nagaland,” said a member of NAKO during a felicitation programme that was held on Sun. Sep. 16 in Dimapur.
Likewise, the NAKO conveyed their appreciation also to the minister of Public Health & Engineering Department Jacob Zhimomi. During the programme, the minister congratulated the NAKO players for bringing laurels to the state
Zhimomi said that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) government is giving their effort to bring quality sports infrastructures in Nagaland, so that Naga sportsmen and women can undergo quality training, preparation and further compete in state, national as well as international levels.
“I will approach the chief minister to consider the NAKO to be inducted into the Nagaland Olympic Association,” Zhimomi further added.
