Dimapur, June 17 (EMN): The newly built primary section of the Newman Higher Secondary School (NMHSS), Tobu was inaugurated by Naiba Konyak, Adivsor Geology & Mining, NBDA, NEPED and blessed by Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, Secretary, CEDOK, on June 17. The august gathering was blessed in the presence of W. Moba Konyak, BDO, Tobu; Zibenthung Kithan ADC, Tobu; S. Nyakba Konyak, EX-MLA, Tobu; Konyak Union, village council, women association leaders, DBs and GBs, student leaders and various NGOs, priests and Sisters from nearby parishes, village chairmen and leaders, parents and dignitaries and other invited guests.
Naiba Konyak, in his address appreciated the diocese of Kohima under the leadership of Bishop James Thoppil, for many ventures in the field of education and social empowerment. Himself being a product of the Catholic School, he appreciated Fathers, Sisters, the Advisory Board, the Catholic community for the magnificent school building successfully completed. He specially thanked Fr. Sivi George, principal of NMHSS and his team for the developmental works done in Tobu.
He cited that in education ‘learning is never-ending because knowledge is endless’. There is so much to learn in life that it is virtually impossible to ever finish your education entirely, he added. He also urged students to learn in repeating what they have previously learned, stating that by repetition one becomes perfect.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Jacob Charalel, Secretary of CEDOK, thanked the principal of NMHSS, priest, sisters, staff, school management, and Catholic Community of Tobu, for their hard work to bring to completion of the School building. He also Neiba Konyak, on behalf of Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima, for the financial help to complete the school building. He said that the little help you give to the Catholic Church is never a waste as the Church returns the same for the development of the community in multiple folds.
W. Moba Konyak, BDO, Tobu, also thanked the Catholic Church for the knowledge imparted to the students. He applauded the priests and sisters for the committed service rendered to the people with no distinction of religion or cast. He urged the people to collaborate with the institution because the school is for the development of the people and of the area.
The principal of the school welcomed the assembly. Welcome song, prayer dance, chorography and action songs were the other highlights of the programme.
