[dropcap]D[/dropcap]espite all appearances to the contrary and despite many hurdles in our journey of common hope, Nagas are always on the move for better things because our best is yet to be. Many things have gone wrong, but not everything. We must not forget that there’s a divine purpose which sweeps through everything, in spite of our human failures. We must remember that believers are praying, sending up tons of petitions and supplications to the Throne of Highest Command, which is never unoccupied or too busy. God is at work and is always good, gracious and “moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform”. His order always comes through the moments. “How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!”Recently the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) has sounded a challenge with its statement, “Taking Responsibility for Nation Building”. Our national leaders have begun sincere deliberations to come closer to a common position. The state government is sending out positive signals. The Naga Hoho is on the move. The Church is playing its role. Politicians and thinkers are all doing serious thinking as to how best we together should avail the opportunity and strike the moment. Every genuine Naga citizen has started searching his/her own mind and soul. A fresh wind blows and the bells are ringing. Another groundswell movement awaits our door.
Good days are coming if we will not make them otherwise from our side. We all know muddy waters do not always remain muddy. With time, things settle down and crystal-clear solutions ultimately appear on the horizon. Every citizen must contribute positively towards the fulfillment of Naga Peoplehood and Nationhood. The past generations have already done their share of works in their times and the future generations will definitely play their own roles. Our generation must not waste precious time and energy bickering over some kitchen problems. There’s a wide world outside around and open to us. There’s an invincible Throne and Kingdom above us. All Nagas must wake up and be on the move once again, wherever they are.
In our endeavour for a good deal or agreement we must take care to keep an opening for posterity to enable all coming generations to play their own roles in their own times. No leader, no authority or government in its own time and power can make everything final or permanent for all times to come. Our issue is complex and multi-dimensional. The last word is not in our hands but in the hands of THE WORD. Meanwhile, the real age-old Naga Democracy as practiced by our ancestors is more than the majority; it is always consensus i.e. general agreement. It is always discursive and inclusive/all-embracing and the whole is more than everything or everybody. It always Works!
