Dimapur, April 7 (EMN): It is high time to realize that Nagas need a people’s friendly legislator who can walk to talk against corruption and even beyond, stated the President of Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) and Professor of law College Kohima, Kezhokhoto Savi.
Speaking as guest speakers at the Nagaland Law Students’ Federation (NLSF) third drive fair election campaign on the theme “One man on vote” at Jotsoma Village, Kohima, Savi said one vote can make changes so every citizen must be wise enough to choose the right person. He also stated that today Naga society needs a reformation and for such reformation every citizen has to change their mindset.
NLSF vice president, Yuwang stressed the important role of Village Council during election and also requested them to be fair and just during election.
Executive member, Ameto pointed out that malpractices in the states during election and highlighted the penalties for such act mentioned in People’s Representative Act, 1951.
NLSF has been carrying out the campaign in Kohima district and so far the federation had covered Phesama, Nerhepheza, Jotsoma and Tyranus Boys Hostel Jakhama.
Getting a positive response from villages during the campaign, NLSF requested all the citizens to make some changes in the upcoming election by being fair and just.
