Dimapur, July 23 (EMN): The UK Naga Association (UKNA) celebrated its 13th annual gathering on July 7 at Chellington Centre, Bedford, with the participation of around 50 people.
The annual gathering, which was marked with sumptuous Naga food, games and sing-along, began on July 6 evening and parted on July 8 afternoon.
With the end of term for the office bearers, coordinator Temsuyanger Longkumer, deputy coordinator Khrienuo Kense Wood, and treasurer Atila Imsong were asked to retain their positions, while Atalu Dezino was elected as new secretary replacing Emilo Kithan, who could not attend the meeting.
The association, in a press release issued by its coordinator Temsuyanger Longkumer, has expressed sadness at the demise of its member Lily Das. She had served as the association’s treasurer for ten years since its inception until she resigned voluntarily in 2016.
The association has further sympathised with the deceased family members both in the UK and Nagaland.
