Dimapur, Jan. 12: The Nagaland State Bharat Scouts & Guides participated in the 17th National Jamboree at Mysuru in Karnataka that began from December 29, 2016, and till January 4. 76 Scouts and Guides, adult leaders and state officials representing the state were in the event, a note from the organisation informed on Thursday.
The state’s contingent comprised Scouts and Guides and adult leaders from Kohima, Dimapur, and Wokha, Mokokchung, Kiphire and Tuensang districts. They participated in various competitions such as folk dance, pageants, food plaza, March Pass, state exhibitions and adventures.
They also participated in the Band Party competition which was represented by Hauyang Choba, BSG Pipe Band of Tuensang. It was announced that it was also one of the first band parties from the north east region to participate at the national level, the press release stated.
The organisers and the participants have thanked the state headquarters and well-wishers for their physical, moral and financial support which enabled the participants to participate in the event successfully, the press release added.
