All India Police Football Championship
DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 12: Mizoram Police inched closer to the quarter finals from Group D with a convincing 7-0 win over a depleted Railway Protection Force. The fate of Nagaland Police hangs on the results of the match between Mizoram Police and Madhya Pradesh Police where a draw would deny Mizoram their chance and Nagaland would be the qualifier from the Group.
From Group B, BSF won its last league match against Manipur 2-1 and has qualified for the Quarter-Finals after winning all its matches in the league phase. In the other results of the matches today, Chhatisgarh Police defeated Haryana Police 4-1 in Group E while Bihar Police overcame Telangana Police 2-0 in Group F.
Assam Police and Kerala Police played out a goalless draw in Group G as also Rajasthan Police and Chandigarh Police in Group C. Uttarakhand Police and Lakshadweep Police played for pride in an inconsequential match with the former prevailing with a score of 3-1 in Group A.
With a hard-fought 3-2 win over Jharkhand Police today, Meghalaya Police are vying for a quarter final berth from Group H with three wins so far. However, Delhi Police with 6 points in two matches may spoil their chances as they still have two games left to play. The decider will be the match in which the two teams lock horns in the last league match of the Group.
