Dimapur, Feb. 9 (EMN): The total number of Covid-19 cases in Nagaland has breached the 35000-mark with 52 new cases reported on Wednesday.
The tally now stands at 35,038 while the active caseload decreased to 581 and total recoveries rose to 32,245 after 126 patients – 77 in Dimapur, 27 in Tuensang, 16 in Kohima, three in Mokokchung, two in Mon and one in Kiphire – recuperated in the last 24 hours.
The update from the Health ministry informed that 37 new infections were reported in Dimapur, 11 in Kohima, two in Tuensang and one each in Mokokchung and Wokha in the last 24 hours.
It added that the death toll has increased to 745 with two fatalities.
Out of the active cases, 426 are asymptomatic, 140 mild, four severe on oxygen, three in ICU without ventilator, and four in ICU on ventilator.
India logged 71,365 new coronavirus infections on Wednesday, taking the country's tally of Covid-19 cases to 4,24,10,976, according to data from the Union Health Ministry.
The death toll climbed to 5,05,279 with 1,217 fresh fatalities, the data stated.
Meanwhile, the active cases declined to 8,92,828, with the recovery of 1,72,211 patients in the last 24 hours.
With the administration of more than 53.61 lakh (53,61,099) vaccine doses, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 170.87 crore (1,70,87,06,705) .
