Dimapur, Nov. 25 (EMN): Zhimomi Hoho celebrated its 75th anniversary of inception in Sheyipu village near Zunheboto town on November 26 with the participation of thousands of clan members from different parts of the state.
An update from the hoho stated that the celebration began with opening of 75th anniversary monolith, which was chaired by G Ikuto Zhimomi, chairman of 75th anniversary planning board, while the dedication prayer of 75th anniversary monolith was led by Rev. Hukugha Zhimomi, executive secretary of SBAK (Nito Mount), followed by opening of monolith by Dr. HS Rotokha and release of 75th anniversary balloons.
A Sumi war dance (Aphilo Kuwo) was performed by able bodied men of Lizu Joint Council.
The main session was chaired by its joint secretary, Phutoshe Zhimomi, while an invocation was pronounced by Rev. P Hotokhu Zhimomi, former ES of SABAK, and Hetovi Zhimomi, Head GB of Sheyipu village, delivered the welcome address.
The women folk of Sheyipu village presented welcome song in the form of ‘Thighale’ followed by presidential address by Ahovi Zhimomi.
A souvenir (Vesulho), which was published to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Zhimomi Hoho, was released by MLA Azheto Zhimomi. A song was presented by Ili Elli Zhimomi which was followed with presentation to the past and present officials of Zhimomi Hoho and a special item called ‘Zhimomi Leshe’ was presented by an octogenarian Bohovi Zhimomi, village chief of Shoipu village.
Greetings and short messages were delivered by Azheto Zhimomi and I Nikheto Jimomi, president of Sumi Hoho. Both the speakers dwelled on the importance of knowing the roots, purpose of brotherhood to broaden outlook and strive for peaceful coexistence with other clans for the overall growth of Sumi tribe in particular and Nagas in general.
A special prayer moment for blessings upon the Zhimomi clan was led by Rev. Dr. Yehevi Jimomi, while the vote of thanks was delivered by its vice president, Capt. G Khekavi Zhimomi, and concluded with a benediction said by Aboka Zhimomi, pastor of Sheyipu Baptist Church.
