Nagaland Wrestling Association sent a 17-member team to Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, for a month-long freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling training camp.

DIMAPUR — A 17-member contingent of the Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) has departed for Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, to attend a month-long coaching camp organised jointly by the NWA and the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).
According to an update, the coaching camp focuses on freestyle wrestling and Greco-Roman style. Recognising the potential and scope of wrestling in these disciplines, the NWA aims to develop Naga wrestlers for upcoming national championships.
A brief send-off programme was held in Kohima for the team, where Dr. Chikhungo Puro, pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, encouraged, exhorted, and blessed the wrestlers. He reminded the players to maintain discipline and put God above all in order to become successful athletes.
It is led by Kuzhovesa Soho, joint secretary, and Keneilel Kevin Rote, treasurer of the NWA.
The men wrestlers are Thejanguzo Pfukha, Keneisellie Khawakhrie, Ketuozotuo Tepa, Zayievoto Kiso, Kevilekho Paul Peki, Kheseto Zutso, Venuzo Dawhuo, Huluyi D Vadeo, Kusayi Tsutso, Jubilee Pfithu, Masharuta Sharu, and Lichumthung C. Kikon.
The women wrestlers are Khrielhounuo Thevo, Vekhonielu Curhah, Putifi Sharu Pfithu, Yaluka Trakha, and Nyurhunle Tep.
