A woman was killed in a dumper hit-and-run near Chozuba in Phek district; driver arrested, locals raise safety concerns.

KOHIMA — In an unfortunate incident, a woman was reportedly killed in a hit-and-run case involving a dumper truck near Chozuba village in Phek district on Sunday afternoon.
Phek Police informed this newspaper that the accused driver was arrested on the same day and is currently in police custody.
According to police sources, the victim was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) following the incident but was declared dead on arrival. An FIR has been registered at Chozuba Police Station under Section 106(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Residents of the area complained of frequent overspeeding by vehicles along the two-lane stretch, stating that they fear for their safety as vehicles often pass through the area at high speed.
