Kohima, Sep. 20 (EMN): The Nagaland Strongman & Fitness Association (NSFA) felicitated four medal winners at the 1st North East Strongman Strongwoman Events & Competition 2019, which was held at the Polo ground in Shillong on July 20.
Gold medallists Vizobilie Punyü and Kevilelie Pienyü, silver medallist Sedevizo Keretsü and bronze medallist Tsuknungaküm Jamir were felicitated during a programme held at Grace Hr. Sec. School, Bayavü, on September 20 with advisor for Youth resources and Sports Zale Neikha as the special guest.
“Health is the most valuable and precious thing for every individual’s life,” said Neikha stressing on the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
He expressed concern over people having little time for physical exercise due to ‘advancement of technology and hectic corporate business.’ He added it has been scientifically proven that physical fitness keeps the mind focused and boosts productivity.
“Fitness is something that cannot be compromised at any point of time. Fitness can be attained through regular training and exercise,” said Neikha, adding that it (fitness) is required to compliment the skills that a person has.
He urged the association to broaden its outlook and focus on weightlifting, arm wrestling, boxing etc., stating that it has a good scope (career) besides staying fit and healthy.
Earlier, Keduvilie Zumvü delivered the presidential address and NSFA general secretary Vechita Khesoh presented a report of the competition.
