Dimapur, Nov. 29 (EMN): The principal chief conservator of forest (PCCF) and chief project director of Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), Dharmendra Prakash, inaugurated the water harvesting structure-cum-marketing shed in at Piphema Old Village on November 29. The facilities were constructed under NFMP funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
An update from the Forest department stated that water harvesting structure-cum-marketing shed was constructed to provide easy access for collection of rain water and also to create a permanent structure for selling local goods by the SHG members of any households in and around the village area.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Dharmendra encouraged the villagers and the NFMP team to keep striving for successful implementation of various projects with their active co-operation.
Vineisolie Kehie, JFMC chairman of Piphema Old Village, thanked the Forest department for taking an active role in implementing the project in the village.
The programme was chaired by Vivika Sema, ACF-cum-ADMU head of Dimapur, while Keneilhoukholie Kuotsu, pastor of Piphema Old Baptist Church, said the invocation prayer.
It mentioned that Nagaland Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, had inaugurated the traditional gate in Piphema Old Village on October 21 and Beizo Suokhrie, DFO-cum-DMU head of Dimapur, inaugurated the marketing shed in Pherima A Village on November 19. It stated that both structures were constructed as entry point activity under the NFMP (JICA) project.
