Nagaland University Students’ Union Lumami hosted a table tennis championship at Lumami campus with students, faculty, and staff participation.

DIMAPUR — The Nagaland University Students’ Union Lumami (NUSU-L) organised a table tennis (TT) championship at the Lumami campus on November 1 where students, faculty, and staff participated. The event was held at the Multi-Purpose Hall.
According to an update, the competition featured three major categories for both male and female participants — singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
In the men’s singles category, Kitoho secured the first position, while Rokovotso Nagi finished second. In the men’s doubles, the pair of Peter Ki and Japhet Kihimi Hyeptho emerged as champions, followed by Daniel and Paul as runners-up.
For the mixed doubles, the duo of Peter Ki and Kekhrievonuo Rome claimed the top spot, while Rokovotso Nagi and Gwanglungzeule took the second position.

In the women’s singles category, Kekhrievonuo Rome emerged as the winner, and Ngiplong S Konyak was the runner-up. In the women’s doubles, the pair of Kekhrievonuo Rome and Gwanglungzeule won first place, while Ngiplong and Vandana finished second.
The event concluded with a valedictory programme attended by Dr. Monalisa Tase, assistant professor of Political Science.
In her address, Dr. Tase said that sports is one of the most disciplined fields, which teaches the values of respect, resilience, patience, and sportsmanship. She highlighted the importance of participation in sports and, drawing a comparison to military training, noted that sports inculcate rules, regulations, and perseverance.
Dr. Tase encouraged the participants to always approach challenges with the mindset of giving their best and never beginning with the thought of losing.
