Dimapur, May 7 (EMN): Prof. R C Gupta, pro-vice chancellor of Nagaland University, Meriema campus inaugurated a gymnasium in boys’ hostel.
In his opening remarks Prof. Gupta highlighted the importance of sports and physical exercises in present scenario.
Gymnasia apparatus such as multipurpose gymnasia machine, bench press (incline/decline), parallel bars, high lat pulley, dumbbell, shoulder press, leg press, thigh squat press, were installed by sports section, the press release from the university informed.
Dean of School of Social Sciences, Nagaland University, Dr. N Venuh, said the establishment of gymnasium will not only encourage the bodily exercises and physical health of student and staff but will also help to promote the community sports and healthy society.
The student community, hostel official thanked Prof. Pardeshi Lal, vice chancellor and deputy director of Sports, Nagaland University, P Zetsuvi for taking proactive measures to uplift the sports infrastructure in university.
