DIMAPUR — Nagaland University has qualified for the All India Inter-University Tournament following a win against host team Royal Global University on January 9.
The match ended 3–3 at full time, and Nagaland University clinched victory in the penalty shootout 4–1, stated an update.
Nagaland University participated in the AIU North East Zone University Championship from January 5 to the 11th, hosted by Royal Global University in Guwahati, Assam.
The team finished as runners-up last year, securing the second position in the tournament. The 22-player squad was led by coach Wati Longchar and manager Mesanguto Meru, deputy director of Sports, Nagaland University.
