Nagaland University faculty deliver an invited talk on Environmental Humanities at an international conference in Turkey

DIMAPUR — Dr. Subhashis Banerjee and Nigamananda Das from the Department of English, Kohima Campus, Nagaland University (NU), delivered an invited talk on Environmental Humanities at the 12th International Conference on Language, Literature and Culture in Isparta, Turkey.
The conference, underway from October 21 to the 24th, is being organised in collaboration with Bournemouth University, England, bringing together scholars to deliberate on emerging perspectives and contemporary developments in language, literature, and cultural studies.
According to an update, in his presentation, Dr. Banerjee explored “the ecological turn of human subjectivity” in the poetry of Jibanananda Das. He examined how the poet’s engagement with plants, landscapes, and other forms of non-human life challenges conventional understandings of human identity and foregrounds the interconnectedness of human existence and the natural world.
