
Two individuals including a pastor were honoured with the state’s ‘Good Samaritan Award’ for their act of humanity rendered to those who met with an accident on July 2, 2022, between Dimapur and Kohima.
Road Safety Committee chairman and deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal, presented the award to P Lanusunep Jamir, pastor of Luyim Ao Baptist Church, and Temjen Imsong, at DC’s office on Monday.

An update informed that the two awardees were encouraged to continue their selfless gesture towards humanity.
Jamir and Imsong said they were glad to learn about the existence of a committee under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highway, which awards people who serve in saving lives of those meeting with unfortunate incidents.
Prior to this, Nagaland Government has also recommended the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways of India to acknowledge and confer National Good Samaritan Award to them.
