DIMAPUR — After a nearly three-year hiatus, Nagaland-based Synthwave/Pop-Rock band Tune Up Channel has returned with renewed energy and a new chapter in its musical journey.
An update issued on Tuesday informed that the band marked its comeback with the release of the latest single and music video “No More Shot,” featuring new vocalist Sentien Kichu.
Sentien Kichu, a versatile singer, songwriter and event host from Nagaland, has earned recognition across the Northeast music scene for her dynamic vocals and energetic stage presence.
The band’s latest single was premiered on YouTube and was formally released by Mokokchung Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, who attended as the guest of honour at Whispering Winds, Mokokchung, on Tuesday.
The band is said to be currently working on an upcoming EP that introduces a fresh musical direction while retaining its signature retro-inspired sound.
Speaking at the event, Verma said districts like Mokokchung hold significant potential and are home to many young and talented artistes. He expressed hope that the launch of the new single would mark a new chapter for the group, which already carries a legacy of over ten years.
Verma acknowledged the band’s contributions, its performances across various platforms, and the recognition it has received. He observed that while the band has made its mark, the changing landscape of social media and the wider music scene call for continued innovation.
Highlighting that several artistes from Nagaland have gained national recognition, he stressed that Mokokchung—as a pioneer district—must also push boundaries in music.
He shared his belief that the district has the capacity to create new songs and videos that carry meaningful social messages and contribute to broader positive change.
