Nagaland: Training for farmers held in Tuli

[caption id="attachment_258739" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Farmers and ATMA officials pose for a photograph during a training on piggery and poultry management in Kangtsung on July 5.[/caption] Dimapur, July 5 (EMN): Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA), Tuli block in Mokokchung district, conducted a training-cum-demonstration and mobilisation of FSG on July 4 and 5. On July 4, ATMA officials conducted demonstration on maize based inter-cropping with soybeans in Luyong village. During the programme, farmers were trained on efficient land-use and higher economic return in maize and soya bean intercropping system. On July 5, the team conducted training on piggery and poultry management at Wameken and Kangtsung villages. During the training, farmers were trained to undertake proper selection of pig breeds, breeding management, care during pregnancy, feeding management and disease and health care. The resource persons were Toshiwati, farm manager of State pig breeding centre, Merangkong; Imlisunep Ajem, BTM, and Shilunokdang, ATM, ATMA Tuli. Altogether, 34 farmers attend the programme.
