Nagaland Tourism Association formed its Zunheboto unit to promote eco-tourism, culture and sustainable tourism development.

DIMAPUR — In a significant initiative to strengthen and promote tourism in the district, stakeholders from Zunheboto on Saturday officially constituted the Nagaland Tourism Association (NTA), Zunheboto unit.
According to an update, the meeting was held at Khonheche Café, Zunheboto, where participants deliberated on the district's vast tourism potential and emphasised the need for a unified platform to promote sustainable tourism, preserve its rich cultural heritage, and create livelihood opportunities for local communities through responsible tourism initiatives.
The members unanimously resolved to establish the district unit of the Nagaland Tourism Association with the objective of promoting eco-tourism, cultural tourism, adventure tourism, and community-based tourism in close coordination with the Department of Tourism and other stakeholders.
The meeting also nominated the office-bearers of the newly formed unit. Holoka T Sumi was nominated as president, Vino Achumi as general secretary, Tokavi K Zhimo as media secretary, and Vitoka Yepthomi as treasurer.

Viza Zhimomi and Kavitoli K. Sumi were nominated as programme coordinators, while Gloria Awomi, Tughuka Muru and Khekivi Awomi were appointed as executive members.
Ivan Zhimomi and Tavinto Sumi were named as advisors.
The newly constituted team expressed its commitment to identifying and promoting the untapped tourism potential of Zunheboto district, encouraging community participation, preserving indigenous culture and traditions, and showcasing the district as an attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors.
The members stated that the formation of the NTA Zunheboto Unit marks a significant milestone in the district's tourism journey and reaffirmed their collective resolve to work towards the sustainable growth and development of tourism in Zunheboto and Nagaland as a whole.
