
Dimapur, Feb. 17 (EMN): Chief Secretary of Nagaland, J Alam on Thursday said that salaries of government employees would be withheld if they fail to attend office, while reminding that the government spends ‘huge amount of money on salary.’
During the monthly meeting of administrative heads of departments (AHODs) and heads of departments (HODs), held under the chairmanship of the chief secretary, the house agreed to implement ‘No Work No Pay’ with immediate effect, and strictly monitor attendance and office timings.
The chief secretary stated that all government offices should ‘start functioning normally’ with the improvement of Covid-19 situation in the state, according to an update by the DIPR.
Alam also requested the AHODs and HODs to give special attention to pending court cases pertaining to the state government.
‘Proper para-wise comments should be prepared and the government lawyers should also be briefed earnestly so that the state government is in a better position to defend the cases,’ it said.
CEO of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Alemtemshi Jamir informed that the state government will be organising a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Conclave in April 2022.
He said that Nagaland needs to attract cooperate companies to contribute their social responsibilities for the development of the state and urged the departments to develop action plans for various projects to be submitted to the companies.
The chief secretary called it a ‘golden opportunity’, and instructed all departments to submit their proposals and projects to IDAN at the earliest for compilation and submission, it said.
Development Commissioner Nagaland, Amardeep Bhatia also opined that implementation of CSR projects in the state will bring good practices, it added.
