Nagaland State AIDS Control Society announces Red Run 3.0 event to be held on October 30.

KOHIMA — The Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS), in collaboration with the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) and the Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA), announced the organisation of Red Run 3.0, scheduled for October 30 at the Agri Expo, 4th Mile, Chümoukedima.
The announcement was made during a curtain-raiser press conference at the NOA office complex in Kohima. The event was addressed by Dr. Ahu Sekhose, Project Director of NSACS; Metevinuo Sakhrie, Joint Director of IEC at NSACS; Neivikuolie Nicholas Kharutso, Assistant Secretary General of NOA; and Neingulie Nakhro, Honorary Treasurer of NAA.
The occasion marked the release of the official logo of Red Run 3.0, the launch of the QR code for registration in the Open (General) Category 2 km run, and the launch of the official jersey for open category runners.
Dr. Sekhose informed that the event is being hosted by the Government of Nagaland and supported by the National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
He informed that the organisers are expecting about 140 participants representing around 35 state AIDS control societies, along with over 700 participants from the general category from the host state.
He also mentioned that Red Run 3.0 was held across districts, with winners culminating at the state event. The top two winners, male and female, will represent their respective states.

Emphasising the event’s purpose, Dr. Sekhose stated that it aims to create awareness on HIV &AIDS prevention and gain maximum visibility.
According to Sakhrie, the event aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and fitness among the youth, in addition to awareness on HIV&AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and for that reason, the general category was also added.
She informed that with the registration for the open category being launched, it will remain open till October 28 for fitness enthusiasts, professionals, students, children, senior citizens, and others who wish to come forward and show solidarity.
The competitive category will feature state-level champions from 35 states and Union Territories, with each represented by two boys and two girls, competing over a 10 km stretch.
The open (general) category run, covering 2 km, is expected to see around 700 participants.
The winner of the competitive category will receive prize money of INR 50,000 and other prizes would be finalised in due course.
To register for the open (general) category run, interested participants can scan the QR code from the social media handles of the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society and complete the details in the online form provided.
Kharutso assured a technically seamless experience for participants, guaranteeing no hitches or complaints during and after the event.
