Nagaland will hold its third Quarterly National Lok Adalat of 2026 on September 12, with 11 benches set up across district headquarters to settle pending and pre-litigation cases.
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), will conduct the third Quarterly National Lok Adalat (People’s Courts) sitting at all district headquarters on September 12.
According to a DIPR report, this is the third Quarterly National Lok Adalat to be held in 2026.
A total of 11 Lok Adalat benches at District Court premises will be set up by the District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs).
Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms and a forum where cases pending in courts of law or at the pre-litigation stage are settled or compromised speedily and amicably. The National Lok Adalat is held on a quarterly basis and has benefited citizens by providing the opportunity to settle disputes free of cost across the state.

Persons having disputes or cases, both pre-litigation and pending, involving civil, matrimonial, MACT and petty offence cases have been asked to come forward on the day or submit their disputes before the date at DLSA front offices, District Court buildings and the NSLSA member secretary’s office, DC Office Compound, or contact 0370-2290153 or email nslsa.nagaland@yahoo.in.
The disposal data of each DLSA will be further uploaded on the web portal of the State Authority at nslsa.nagaland@gov.in.
During the second Quarterly National Lok Adalat held on May 9, 2026, a total of 402 cases were taken up and 220 cases were disposed of, amounting to a total settlement amount of INR 3,66,21,476.
