Dimapur, March 27 (EMN): Nagaland is likely to experience isolated rainfall with thunderstorm and gusty winds over the next few days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.
On March 28, isolated rainfall is expected in Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Longleng, Tuensang, Phek, Wokha and Zunheboto while Kiphire and Peren will remain dry.
On March 29, isolated rainfall is expected in Peren, Dimapur, Kohima, Phek, Zunheboto and Wokha while the other districts -- Mon, Longleng, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Kiphire -- are expected to remain dry.
On March 30, Dimapur, Phek, Zunheboto and Kiphire will remain dry while rainfall is likely in Peren, Kohima, Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon and Tuensang.
IMD on Sunday stated that light to moderate rainfall activity is ‘very likely’ to continue over Northeast India during next five days while light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightning/gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is very likely over Northeast India during next three days.
Under the influence of strong southwesterly winds likely from Bay of Bengal to Northeastern states at lower tropospheric levels, scattered, fairly widespread light and moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) is very likely over the region during March 30 and 31, with isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Assam-Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh on March 31, 2022.
