Kohima, Aug. 8: Speaking at the opening of the 2nd skill festival at Oriental College, Kohima, Neichute Duolo, Indian social entrepreneur, 2016 and CEO Entrepreneur Associate, Kohima opined that easy living have destroyed the mindset of the Nagas as a whole.
Interacting with the students of Oriental College, the outspoken and young entrepreneur said that Nagas have been spoilt with the creation of Nagaland as a state in India as everyone was after an easy life of getting government job in one way or another.
He opined that the mentality of the young Nagas should come out of this cocoon as everyone was not entitled nor programmed to become a government job holder.
Challenging the gathering, he said life is not all about the money and resources at hand but rather the will of an individual to overturn the scenario in their favour through hard work.
He also emphasized on the syllabus of the current Indian scenario by stating that the present Indian education system does not encourage young people to unlearn what they have learnt to accommodate and adjust with the demands of the world.
Avowing his support for the young students in their endeavour towards making a contribution to the society, he asked them to be wary of the present trend and plan accordingly as everyone was not destined to be a government employee.
He further congratulated the college for introducing and starting the life skill program for the students in order to prepare them with the basic life skills in their formative years and thus enabling them to think and prepare for their future.
It may be mentioned that the 2nd Skill fest of Oriental College ,Kohima was graced with many a expert and professionals in their fields to interact and inculcate their working experience to the students such as Dr. Menuoseittuo Tseikha, District Project Officer, Land resource: Neithu-o Kuotsu, Dy. Director, directorate of fisheries:
Dr. Haibe Zeliang, Dy. Director of Vety. and Animal Husbandry and Neichute Duolo as resource persons.
Other than the main highlights of the day, there were also resource persons who imparted their skills on various programs like painting and framing, food processing, baking, ornament making, electrical fittings, knitting, floriculture, mushroom cultivation, carpentry and handicrafts.
