Dimapur, September 17: The 16th Nagaland State ITF Taekwon-Do Championship concluded at the State Indoor Stadium in Dimapur on Saturday. The two-day event was organized by Nagaland Taekwon-Do Federation (NTF) in collaboration with Taekwondo Association of Dimapur (TAD).
During the championship, 311 participants from 22 different schools and clubs from different parts of Nagaland competed. The participants competed in events such as individual sparring (juniors and seniors), individual patterns (juniors and seniors), group sparring, group patterns and special technique.
Out of the total 311, 60 of them will be participating at the 31st National ITF Taekwon-Do Championship, 2016 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat from December 27-30 this year.
The overall championship was bagged by St. Stephen Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, while Burma Camp Taekwon-Do Club emerged as the runner-up, followed by Dimapur Club as the 2nd runner-up. The best male player trophy was bagged by Tokato Aye from St. Stephen Higher Secondary School, Dimapur along with Paul Zeliang from Burma Camp Taekwon-Do Club. Both of the players bagged 3 gold medals each.
The best female player trophy was bagged by Shingyieh Konyak of Liz Woodland School and Usha Kumari of Dimapur Club. The best disciplined team was given to Pilgrim School, Dimapur.
