Dimapur, Dec. 21 (EMN): Nagaland State Dental Council (NSDC) has decided to re-nominate Dr. Chiekroshuyi Tetseo to represent Nagaland as member of the Dental Council of India under 3 (e) of Dentist Act, 1948.
In a representation to the commissioner and secretary of Health & Family Welfare, NSDC informed that the council has re-nominated Dr. Chiekroshuyi Tetseo to represent Nagaland to the Council of India under 3 (e) of Dentist Act, 1948.
NSDC stated this in response to the letter issued by the secretary of Dental Council of India regarding nomination of candidate to represent Nagaland under 3 (e) of Dentist Act, 1948, as the tenure of Dr. Chiekroshuyi Tetseo got be over by December 14, 2022.
The NSDC representation jointly appended by its president, Dr. Hotokhu H Chishi, and the registrar, Dr. Wapang Pongner, recommended the candidature of Dr. Chiekroshuyi Tetseo, and assigned him with the responsibility as convenor of sub-committee for implementation of Tobacco Cessation Centres in all dental institutions in the country with effect from September 19, 2022.
“It is an important responsibility and we feel that it is also a privilege for our state nominee to be playing important role in national level. We also need to clarify that the eligibility criteria for state nominee is mentioned in Section 3 (e) of Dentists Act 1948,” the representation read.
The council requested the commissioner and secretary to consider the matter and submit the nomination to the Dental Council of India at the earliest.
