Kohima, June 15 (EMN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in a meeting with the leaders of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) on Monday assured that the Nagaland Staff Selection Board (SSB) would be approved within one month’s time.
NSF President Ninoto Awomi informed this during a press conference in Kohima on Monday. “The chief minister said that all the cabinet ministers have come to the same page, and they have already set up the committee on SSB; and the committee has submitted the modalities to the government. Now they just need a cabinet meeting to approve,” he said.
“We were assured that it has already been agreed on principle but the committee members have to work on finalising the paperwork,” he added.
Awomi said that the NSF team raised the issue of returnees losing their jobs.
According to him, the government informed that it has already set up a committee on employment and sustainability, and is focusing on agri and allied sectors, skill development, tourism, youth resources and sports.
He further informed that the NSF has appealed to the government to be transparent in financial management, to which the chief minister had assured that everything would be made available in public domain.
