DIMAPUR — The Department of Social Welfare has announced an ongoing state-level Special enrolment drive for the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), being conducted across all 17 districts of Nagaland.


In a communiqué, the department stated that the is a centrally-sponsored maternity benefit scheme under Mission Shakti, which provides monetary benefit of INR 5,000 to pregnant women and lactating mothers (PW & LM) for their first live birth and INR 6,000 for the second child, provided the second child is a girl.

The benefits are provided through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and can be availed up to nine months after child birth. The eligible candidates can visit the nearest Anganwadi Centre/CDPO/DPO office or the District Hub for Empowerment of Women.
