Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): To commemorate the 75th anniversary of Peren Township, a demand-driven skill development programme on tiling, plumbing and masonry for the youth of Nagaland in construction sector was conducted at Peren Town Hall on Monday.
A DIPR report stated that the programme was organised by the Department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with Zynorique Initiative Society as the training partner.
The inaugural programme was graced by deputy director, department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Alongse Sangtam and chairman Zynorique Initiative Society, Richard Belho.
The deputy director, Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, in his address encouraged the participants to focus on achieving the required skills and take ownership to uplift local economy through their learning skills.
Sangtam also highlighted on various schemes and training being imparted in district levels and urged the gathering to take the opportunities for the benefits of all. Skills building can also be seen as an instrument to empower the individual and improve social acceptance, he said.
Chairman Zynorique Initiative Society, Richard Belho, also spoke on the importance of skill training for educated and unemployment youth of Nagaland. Belho said that with skill development people can work effectively and achieve success in whatever they do. He said skill development programmes are helping the youths to understand the prospects of skill training initiative and to help to achieve more targets.
Additional deputy commissioner and administrator, Peren Town Council, Keyirangding Hegui, gave the concluding remarks.
Altogether, 43 youths from all the wards of Peren Town participated in the programme. The training program will culminate on August 27.
