DIMAPUR — Nagaland secured corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments worth more than INR 30 crore at the Nagaland Connect 2026 conclave organised by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in New Delhi on June 23.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, 15 Letters of Interest and partnership commitments were handed over to the authority in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Deputy Chief Ministers TR Zeliang and Y Patton during the conclave.
The event, themed ‘Forging Partnerships, Creating Impact’, was organised by IDAN in collaboration with CSRBOX and brought together more than 40 companies to explore CSR partnerships and development initiatives in Nagaland.
Addressing the gathering, Rio urged India’s corporate sector to view Nagaland as “a destination for opportunity” rather than a recipient of assistance.
“Nagaland today is not merely a destination for assistance, it is a destination for opportunity,” he said, highlighting the state's young population, strategic location under the Act East Policy and initiatives such as the proposed Nagaki Incubation City.
Describing CSR as “an instrument of equity” rather than a compliance obligation, Rio invited companies to partner with the state in areas including education, livelihoods, healthcare, sports, environmental sustainability, women’s empowerment and youth development.

He said the government has established a single-window platform through IDAN to facilitate, support and monitor CSR partnerships.
“Today, I invite you not merely to invest in projects, but to invest in people and possibilities,” the chief minister said.
IDAN chairman and advisor to the chief minister, Abu Metha, said Nagaland remains one of the most under-served states in terms of CSR funding despite significant development needs.
Calling Nagaland a frontier state with considerable potential, he urged corporates to focus their CSR initiatives in regions where development gaps remain substantial.
“Nagaland is fertile ground for innovative partnerships that can transform communities while contributing to the broader vision of inclusive national development,” he said.
The conclave focused on six priority sectors aligned with the state's development agenda — health, nutrition, WASH and sanitation; education, livelihoods and skilling; rural development; sports and youth development; environment, biodiversity and climate resilience; and gender equality, inclusion and digital access.
IDAN said the roundtable was aimed at building structured engagement between the corporate sector and the state government, identifying opportunities for multi-sector collaboration and developing a pipeline of investment-ready projects for Nagaland.
