CM Neiphiu Rio launches Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell to serve as centralised authority for all state scholarship schemes.

DIMAPUR — Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio launched the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell (NSNC) on December 1.
According to a DIPR report, the Nagaland Scholarship Nodal Cell has been established at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima, as the centralised authority for all scholarship schemes in the state.
This initiative stems from the Cabinet decision of June 12, 2019, and was reaffirmed during the consultative meeting held with the chief secretary on September 10, 2025.

The NSNC is composed of nominated officials from all the scholarship-implementing departments, including a designated nodal officer from the scholarship section of the Directorate of Higher Education who serves as the in-charge under the director of Higher Education.
Key mandates of the NSNC include effective implementation and management of scholarship programmes; timely dissemination of information to students and stakeholders; verification and validation of student eligibility; centralised grievance redressal for scholarship-related issues; and direct and timely fund disbursement to beneficiaries.
