DIMAPUR — The RMSA teachers of 2016 batch have objected to the letter issued by the joint mission director of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland on August 29 on the grounds that it misrepresents the release of pending salaries as a resolution to their concerns, while failing to address the core issue of the non-implementation of binding court orders.
In a press release, the teachers, represented by the Nagaland RMSA Teachers' Association (NRMSATA), clarified that the delayed salary payments for April–July 2025, though finally released, should not be viewed as a favour.
They maintained that salary is a rightful due for services already rendered and that the belated release does not absolve the state government from complying with court rulings.

The teachers also refuted the government's claims regarding a review petition filed on August 14, 2025, noting that they had not received any official notice, and most importantly, no stay order had been granted by the Supreme Court.
They claimed that the judgements made in their favour remain valid and binding, and urged the state government to honour them.
The NRMSATA also criticised the government’s call for teachers to resume their “bonafide duty,” describing it as misleading and offensive. They stated that the disruption of academic activities is not due to the teachers’ protest, but rather the government’s failure to implement binding court orders.
