DIMAPUR — The Nagaland RMSA Teachers’ Association 2016 (NRMSATA-2016) expressed gratitude to individuals, students’ unions, civil society organisations, tribal apex bodies, parents, and children across Nagaland for their support during its “struggle for justice”.

In a press release, the association said that what began as 367 voices has grown into thousands, united in truth and justice, with more than 200 letters of support and solidarity received from diverse stakeholders.

The association stated that its struggle has become a collective cry for justice carried forward by the people themselves.

The association said the solidarity shown has not only empowered the RMSA 2016 batch but has also reinforced the broader cause of equitable treatment for educators. It added that the generosity and goodwill of those who supported the cause have strengthened their resolve.

Although the issue had not yet reached a final resolution, NRMSATA-2016 said the state government has assured that the matter would be addressed and resolved favourably within six months.

In view of this, it decided to keep its sit-in protest in abeyance and resume duties in the greater interest of students, particularly those in classes 8 and 9 preparing for their final exams.
