Dimapur, Sep. 6 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 32 Covid-19 cases and five fatalities on Monday, taking the tally and death toll to 30,388 and 617 respectively.
An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that out of the 32 new cases detected on Monday, 13 were in Mokokchung, 10 in Dimapur, four in Kohima, two each in Mon and Peren, and one in Zunheboto.
The state’s death toll rose to 617 after five deaths were reported in the last 24 hours while the cumulative recoveries increased to 28,128 with 44 more patients recuperated.
As many as 16 patients in Mokokchung, 11 in Dimapur, 10 in Kohima, five in Longleng and one each in Mon and Peren recovered on Monday.
Nagaland currently has 712 active Covid-19 cases, out of which 542 are asymptomatic, 115 mild, 17 moderate on oxygen, 23 severe on oxygen, seven in ICU without ventilator, and eight in ICU on ventilator.
In regard to the district-wise distribution of active Covid-19 cases, Dimapur leads with 329 cases, followed by Kohima with 128, 118 in Mokokchung, 42 in Phek, 41 in Mon, 22 in Zunheboto, , nine in Wokha, eight in Peren, seven in Kiphire, and four each in Longleng and Tuensang.
Meanwhile, India reported 38,948 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, pushing the tally to 3,30,27,621 and active caseload to 4,04,874, according to data provided by the Union Health Ministry.
The country also registered 219 fresh fatalities, the lowest in 167 days, resulting in declining of fatality rate to 1.33 per cent. The death toll currently stands at 4,40,752.
