Dimapur, Feb. 7 (EMN): Nagaland recorded a single-day rise of 71 Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the state’s tally to 34,927 while the active caseload declined to 691 following recovery of 73 more patients – 57 in Dimapur, 13 in Kohima and one in Mokokchung.
The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 32041 and the death toll due to the pandemic rose to 742 with three fatalities reported in the last 24 hours.
An update from the department of Health and Family Welfare informed that 38 fresh cases were reported in Kohima, 23 in Dimapur, six in Mokokchung, two in Wokha and one each in Mon and Tuensang.
Out of 691 active cases in the state, 533 are asymptomatic, 142 mild, six moderate on oxygen, two severe on oxygen, four in ICU and four in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of distribution of active cases, Dimapur has 467 infections, 143 in Kohima, 30 in Tuensang, 15 in Mokokchung, 11 in Peren, eight in Wokha, six in Mon, five in Longleng, four in Zunheboto and one each in Kiphire and Phek.
India reported 83,876 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s tally to 4,22,72,014, according to the data provided by the Union health ministry.
The daily cases dropped below one lakh for the first time in 32 days and the current active cases stand at 11,08,938.
The death toll has climbed to 5,02,874 with 895 more fatalities and the total recoveries increased to 4,06,60,202 following recuperation of 1,99,054 patients.
The update went on to state that a total of 169.63 crore vaccine doses have been administered across the country so far.
