Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): The number of COVID-19 active cases in Nagaland increased to 99 with 15 fresh infections detected on Wednesday. The death toll remained unchanged at 763 with no fresh fatality recorded during the same period.
According to the update from the department of Health and Family Welfare, 11 fresh cases were reported in Kohima, and one each in Mokokchung, Dimapur, Mon and Phek in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of cases in the state to 35,738.
The state’s cumulative recoveries also increased to 33,372 with the recovery of 16 more patients in the last 24 hours, which includes 10 in Kohima, four in Dimapur and one each in Mon and Mokokchung.
Out of the 99 active cases, 50 are asymptomatic, 41 mild, two moderate on oxygen and two in ICU on ventilator.
In terms of district-wise distribution of active cases, Kohima has 46 cases, 28 in Dimapur, 10 in Mokokchung, six in Wokha, and three each in Longleng, Phek and Mon, while the remaining districts are currently COVID-free.
Meanwhile, India reported 18,313 new COVID cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry stated on Wednesday.
In the same period, the country reported 57 more COVID deaths, taking the nationwide death toll to 5,26,167.
